‘I have never been in a church, but we were invited to this concert at school. I heard the gospel and now I want to follow Jesus because the Christian faith looks fantastic!’
This was just one of the comments we heard from young people who came to our evangelistic gig in Haarlem last Friday.
The gig came at the end of an epic week of schools mission where Galactus Jack and Ben Haydn from the UK performed their gospel-packed tracks to 450 young people, and ran lessons on mental health and resilience all from the Christian perspective. Every student the team met was invited to the end-of-week gig where they could hear more music from the two Bens as well as hearing more about Jesus’ love for them.
Over 70 young people came along, heard the gospel shared from the stage and 25 responded and accepted Jesus into their lives! Another young person got chatting to the team and said, ‘I know nothing of Christian faith, but these artists had something real. You can tell they don’t fake this. In the school’s lesson, you could feel they’re sincere in their faith and they shared stuff that’s real. That is the reason I came to the gig tonight.’
Please do be praying for the young people as they get plugged into local churches.
The week of mission, culminated in the launch of our newest international Message hub in The Netherlands. And we’re already excited by the way God’s opening doors there as the team share the love of Jesus with the least, the last and the lost. In coming months, we’re hoping to launch a new Eden team, expand creative mission and start up Advance Youth groups! We can’t wait to see what God’s going to do and hear about lives being transformed.
