Here at Eden, we send and support teams of urban missionaries in deprived neighbourhoods across the world – to live sacrificially, share the gospel and build authentic community.
As we move into disadvantaged communities and do life with our neighbours, we get to share the good news of Jesus in word and deed, creating a deep sense of community. Our teams support their partner churches in youth ministry, community projects, gospel outreach and discipleship, all while living within the community, reaching the least, last and lost. As communities are encouraged and young people mentored we see the atmosphere change, leaders rise and communities changed for good.
They will say, ‘This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited.’ – Ezekiel 36:35
Here in Canada we launched our first Eden back in 2018 in Downtown Eastside, Vancouver. Partnering with Coastal Church, Pastor Fari Maghami and his team have made the neighbourhood their home sharing the love of Jesus in word and deed. Perfectly capturing Eden’s heart to serve the community, Coastal Church run the Eden Café (a Christian social enterprise at 643 East Hastings Street, Vancouver Downtown Eastside), where they serve great coffee and food in a welcoming space for people from all walks of life. Through the café, young people from broken backgrounds are employed, equipped, supported and discipled as they rebuild their lives and discover more about Jesus. It’s a community hub for connection, counselling, and prayer, headed up by Pastors Dave and Cheryl Koop and all part of Coastal Church’s vision ‘to help make the city a better place’. Why not find out more and place a visit next time you’re in Vancouver?
‘Eden isn’t just a project to me, it’s my life!’Pastor Fari Maghami
As Eden grows we’re dreaming of planting new teams into British Columbia, Vancouver, Surrey and Alberta in partnership with local churches.

One of our favourite times spent on the streets is doing community clean up caring for our local school […]Read More
