Around the world, men and women are stepping up and out in their evangelism, grabbing every opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with those around them.
People like Toby, an Advance Group Leader who used an opportunity to share the gospel whilst travelling. ‘After having to travel between airports in New York, I found myself at a subway station where I hadn’t expected to be,’ Toby said. ‘While I was waiting on the platform, a girl approached me asking if the next train would go to JFK airport. She said she’d been affected by flight cancellations and wasn’t supposed to be at this particular station either.
‘Remembering some of what my Advance group had chatted about and how we can use everyday conversations and interactions to share the love of Jesus, I decided to use the opportunity to share the gospel with her and give her a book I had in my bag about evangelism. She was really touched and although I don’t know what will happen off the back of the conversation, I know God can use all opportunities, and I’m glad I had the boldness to step out for Jesus.’
Over in Brazil, our Advance Ambassador Jessica’s also been making the most of every day opportunities. When she was chatting with her friends about her work with Advance and how Advance is all about encouraging, equipping and empowering the local church to share the gospel, her friends excitedly said they wanted to get involved with Advance too! Since then, Jessica’s friends have started their own Advance group in their church and those coming along are getting inspired in their evangelism.
One of the members coming along said ‘Advance set my heart on fire! Now more than ever, I will take advantage of every opportunity I can to share the love of Jesus with those around me like my students and their parents, through my work as a teacher.’
